These rare Super Snake Shelby's started their lives as an already special Shelby GT500 before being shipped to an authorized Shelby MOD Center for conversion into a Super Snake with the rare 40th Anniversary package.
This one specifically went to Cranston, Rhode Island, USA.
The Super Snake package costs an additional $30,000 USD.
Regarding the Super Snake aspect of the vehicle, it has the engine only.
One key element as to why the handling is so good on these is the 40th Anniversary package is the new Shelby/Eibach suspension upgrade for the GT500. This new coil over system allows for adjustability for both straight line and road course tracks. The new spring/shock combination lowers the front a maximum of 0.8-inch and the rear 1.6-inches for a very aggressive appearance and lower center of gravity. In addition bigger anti-way bars are included for reduced body roll. The result is flat precise cornering without a harsh ride.
Their engine outputs went from 500HP to over 600HP in the convertibles, more muscular styling and even better handling.
The Shelby’s 40th Anniversary package adds special identification, a roll bar and stripe kit.
