Here we have a restored 1972 Jensen Interceptor Mk III with a 4-speed manual transmission. It is a grand touring car that was hand-built at the Kelvin Way Factory in West Bromwich, near Birmingham in England, by Jensen Motors from 1966 to 1976. It uses a steel body shell, after using glass reinforced plastic in the 1950's. The Mk III, introduced in 1971, features a revised front grille, headlamp finishers, bumper treatment & revised seats. It came with GKN alloy wheels & air conditioning as standard. The Interceptor’s exterior styling was designed by Carrozeria Touring of Italy & features a wrap-around rear window that operates as a hatch.
It was originally powered by the Chrysler 440ci 7.2L High Deck Big Block V8 with a 4-barrel carburetor, however it was upgraded to the very rare "1 of 232" 440ci Six Pack with 3 2-barrel carburetors. This "Six Pack" was only offered in 1971 & is uber rare. The sticker decal on the engine is real & not just for show! It was also originally a 3-speed Torqueflite A727 automatic transmission, it was converted to the 4-speed manual by the seller due to personal preference. The mileage on the 5 digit odometer is 23,909 miles / 38,488 km; TMU. It is 1 of 6408 ever produced, with much less remaining. Likely the only one with a Six Pack & manual conversion.
This example wears larger wheels. Originally they were 15" (originals included), the seller opted to put a matching larger 17" set. A sliding sunroof was also professionally installed under current ownership.
