Extra options

Here we have a striking 1947 Oldsmobile Series 66 in a custom paint job. The Series 60 is a 2-door club coupe sold as a full-size car made by Oldsmobile from 1939-1948 spanning 2 generations. The 1st generation lasting 2 years & this 2nd-generation from 1941-1948. It was their entry-level model using the A-body platform under GM. This allowed for Oldsmobile to have an entry-level example with standard features that would be optional on a Chevrolet or Pontiac at the time using the platform. It was created with a column shifter & wider runningboard-less "torpedo" styling, allowing for 3 passengers to be accommodated in both the front & rear bench. Standard equipment for the Series 66 included safety glass, a spare wheel kit, dual horns, vacuum booster pump & a cigarette lighter. The seller reportedly acquired this Series 66 in January 2023 from a gentleman who had it for roughly 2 years. 2 owners back was the known long-time owner who also did almost all of the work to it. The work which was said to have been completed roughly 15 years ago included new paint, rebuilding the engine & adding a dual carburetor setup, replacing all the glass which is tinted & more; he ultimately sold it due to reported old age. The floor is said to have no holes anywhere & is all original along with the drivetrain. The seller had a new clutch put in from Kentucky Clutch. It was converted to a 12V from a 6V, the electric fuel pump is reportedly new, the same goes for the full exhaust line, brakes, and the undercarriage is said to be clean. The paint is said to be teal blue & the flames have a "ghost" effect, with change-able colours between purple, blue, red, pink & more depending on where you are standing. An interesting feature with this classic is it has a functioning spot-light just above the driver side mirror. It is powered by a 238ci 3.9L straight-6 engine spinning the rear wheels through a 3-speed synchromesh manual transmission. The car currently shows 59,230 miles / 95,315 km on the 5-digit odometer; TMU Total Mileage Unknown. It reportedly runs very nicely & is a great weekend cruiser. The license plate is included with the vehicle & can be reportedly transferred over with ease. - 3-speed synchromesh manual transmission - Teal with "ghost" flames over tan mixture cloth interior - 3-spoke steering wheel - Swivel windows - Passenger dashboard analog clock - Dual horns - Cigarette lighter - 3+3 bench seats - Headlight lids - Driver side spot-light - 6.00 x 16" Michelin tires - Power: + 100 HP - Curb Weight: ~ 3500 lbs
