Here we have a stunning & rare 2006 Aston Martin DB9 Volante with a 6-speed manual Graziano transmission. In total, 16,500 DB9's were produced; 385 of them were manual coupes & just 237 of them were manual Volante's. This DB9 is 1 of 237 total examples, it made up just 1.4% of total production. The Aston Martin DB9 is a 2-door grand tourer produced in Gaydon, Warwickshire. It was first produced as a coupe in 2004 while the convertible "Volante" arrived in 2005 & was around until the model discontinued in 2016. The DB9 succeeded the DB7 & was designed by Ian Callum & Henrik Fisker. Aston Martin decided to name the new generation DB9 instead of DB8 due to fears that the name might suggest it had a V8 under the hood, while it has a V12. The letters "DB" are the initials of David Brown, the owner of Aston Martin from 1947-1972. The DB9 uses extensive lightweight materials which include aluminium & composites throughout the body. It underwent 2 facelifts, in 2008 & 2010 which included minor changes to the headlights, taillights, engine & interior. The convertible top of the Volante is made of folding fabric & opens in 17 seconds.
This DB9 is very special as it is not just the ONLY DB9 Volante 6-Speed currently for sale in Canada, but the ONLY DB9 6-Speed for sale including coupes in Canada. This example features the face-lifted clear taillights from the 2nd update in 2010, along with an alcantara steering wheel & alcantara shifter with yellow stitching. This DB9 reportedly now produces close to 500 HP thanks to a tune & an increase in throttle response is very noticeable. Within the OEM infotainment screen, it features integrated CarPlay & Android Auto with a small control module located near the ignition. The catalytic convertors were removed to give the exhaust some extra grunt & can be heard in the videos attached below. All original parts including the catalytic convertors, steering wheel, shifter & taillights are included.
The seller acquired this DB9 in 2024 & has added roughly 2,000 km since. The seller services his vehicles at the same exotic garage that the previous Edmonton, AB local owner did; after years of inquiring on its availability the current seller finally got his hands on it. Unfortunately, the rear seats do not accomodate a child seat very well therefore it is time to swap it for something just as awesome with a bit more space in the rear. At the time of the purchase the vehicle was entirely detailed, polished & ceramic coated; the paint is said to be in great condition other than some chips & scratches in the lower front valance. The clutch assembly was reportedly replaced under previous ownership within the last 5,000 km.
It is powered by a 5.9L DOHC V12 engine spinning the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. It currently shows 40,173 miles / 64,652 km on the digital odometer. All is said to be in working order with the vehicle. In total, 16,500 DB9's were produced; 385 of them were manual coupes & just 237 of them were manual Volante's. This DB9 is 1 of 237 total examples, it made up just 1.4% of total production.
