Extra options

Here we have a 1997 Kia Vigato 5-Speed. Originally a Lotus Elan, Lotus sold the tooling for this model to Kia motors in 1995. It was sold as the Elan in South Korea & as the Vigato in Japan, where this was originally sold. It was built by the Korean company after Kia acquired it from Lotus when the British company stopped making it in 1995. It uses the same Lotus platform with an updated rear taillight panel. Kia used some parts from their GM-affiliated company, Isuzu, for its front wheel drive powertrain for this car. The engineering & design remained a pure Lotus, including the mostly plastic composite body over a steel backbone chassis, front & rear wishbone suspensions & a low weight. The body was designed by Peter Stevens, who became chief designer at McLaren Cars & designed the legendary F1. This car reportedly spent time in Japan prior to being imported to Canada by the selling dealer in November 2022. It features a tri-spoke wood-rimmed MOMO steering wheel along with 16" OZ racing wheels. All is said to be in working order with the vehicle, while some aesthetic imperfections are present. A CarFax report from late 2022 is reportedly clean & shows no accidents or other damage; it lists a single entry of history in Ontario, ON. It is powered by a transversely-mounted 1.8L T8D DOHC inline-4 engine spinning the front wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. The photos & video are 2 years old, the vehicle is said to have been in storage since & is confirmed to be in the same condition. A tune-up is recommended along with new tires. - 5-speed manual transaxle - White over black vinyl with multi-color cloth inserts - Power windows, mirrors & locks - A/C - Bucket seats - Japanese-market Mitsubishi-branded stereo - Analog clock - 3-spoke aftermarket wood-rimmed steering wheel - 240-km/h speedometer, tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline and gauges for coolant temperature & fuel level - Voltage & oil pressure gauges are mounted at the top of the center stack - 4-wheel double-wishbone independent suspension - Discs at all 4 corners - Pop-up headlights - Rear spoiler - Single exit exhaust - Black soft top - Power operated antenna - 16″ OZ Racing wheels - 205/50 R16 87V Yokohama ECO S tires - Power: ~ 133 HP & 123 Lb-Ft of Torque - Curb Weight: ~ 2381 lbs
