Here we have a 1984 Bertone X1/9 with a custom rear deck. The X1/9 is an Italian 2-seater mid-engined sports car designed by Bertone. It was manufactured by Fiat from 1972-1982 before Gruppo Bertone took over from 1982-1989 once Fiat exited the US market. The X1/9 was sold for 3 generations in the United States; the 1st for 1974, the 2nd lasting 3 years from 1975-1978 while the 3rd & final spanned a decade until 1989. In 1984, the year of this example here, the main update was to the electrical system with new fuses. The X1/9 has a transverse engine & gearbox in a mid-mounted, rear-wheel drive setup.
