Here we have the Italian Pocket Rocket in the 2004 Alfa Romeo 147 GTA with a 6-speed manual. This is a Japanese Spec example. The Alfa Romeo 147 GTA was developed in Italy as a limited production vehicle. It was a joint project between Alfa Romeo & Fiat, being manufactured by Zagato. This example was exported into Canada from Japan by Eclection Specialty Auto Sales before the current owner purchased it from them in May of 2021. The vehicle was sold to the seller with approximately 119,500 km. It now shows approximately 126,200 km on the odometer. This car is currently registered in Ontario with a normal active title. It reportedly has no claims under the current ownership & has no known prior history of accidents or work done to it. However, prior history in Japan is ultimately unknown. The reason for the sale is it simply does not get driven enough as it is the weekend summer vehicle to other summer vehicles in the garage.
This 147 GTA fronts a V-shaped grille with horizontal slats & honeycomb air vents. Teardrop shaped taillights extend across the hatchback door above the bumpers. In the interior, the centre console angles toward the driver & presents a common aftermarket upgrade in a Sony head unit. The Cuoio Imola 2-tone leather seats are a rare option as the majority of the 147 GTA's are cloth seats. These high-performance GTA models have a widened body (15 mm at each side) to accommodate the 225/45 ZR17 tires over the regular trim. This is 1 of 5,029 147 GTA's built. It won European Car of the Year in 2001.
It is powered by a Busso 3179cc 3.2L V6 spinning the front wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The car has a claimed top speed of 246 KM/H & a 0-62 mph in 6.3 seconds. The suspension uses double wishbones with trailing arms & an anti-roll bar at the front. Macpherson struts with transverse levers, offset coil springs, a shock absorber & an anti-roll bar at the back.
The end of the "EXTERIOR", "INTERIOR" & "ENGINE" gallery's show the vehicle prior to purchase by the current owner when it had 119,500 km on it at Eclection Specialty Auto Sales; before the wheels were powder coated & the Sony head unit was installed.
