This 1965 Triumph TR4A was refurbished with new white paint and red interior materials under previous ownership, reportedly in 1996, and was acquired by the selling dealer in May 2019. The car is equipped with a removable Surrey top, dual stainless steel exhaust outlets, and bullet mirrors.
Power comes from a 2.1-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a solid rear axle. This TR4A is offered by the selling dealer in Canada with manufacturer’s literature, a shop manual, refurbishment photos, and clean Ontario registration.
The body was refinished in its original white during the 1990s work and features a red stripe across the hood and front fenders. Brightwork includes chrome bumpers with overriders, stainless steel dual exhaust outlets, a chrome luggage rack, and bullet side mirrors.
The steel Surrey hardtop features a removable roof panel, and a soft top is also included in the sale. Painted 15″ steel wheels with chrome trim rings and hubcaps are mounted with LeMans radial tires. A spare is housed under the trunk floor. Braking is from discs up front and drums in the rear.
The cockpit is upholstered in red vinyl with white piping and features black carpets, lap belts, and crank windows. A push-button AM radio is mounted in the center console and connected to speakers behind the seats.
A banjo-spoke steering wheel frames a Jaeger 120-mph speedometer and tachometer, while gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are mounted in the center of the wood dash panel. The five-digit odometer shows 83k miles, 3k of which were added by the selling dealer. Total mileage is unknown.
The 2,138cc inline-four features dual Stromberg carburetors and a chrome valve cover. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a solid rear axle suspended by leaf springs.
The car is supplied with owner’s and shop manuals, a jack, a bag for the removable roof panel, and a binder containing photos of the 1990s refurbishment work.
