Here we have a very rare version of a 996.2 911 due to the 6.2L Renegade Hybrid LS3 V8 engine in the rear. It is a final year 996 2004 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet 6-Speed. The seller is the primary caretaker of the 4S but is selling it on behalf of his father who is the owner. The selling party is the 2nd owner of the car. They purchased it in 2007 from a close friend who ordered it new. This car combines Carrera 4's all-wheel-drive chassis with a very powerful LS3 under that rear hatch. It's a desirable 4S Cabriolet touting low mileage on both the body & engine, some nice options & the main course: the LS3 V8. Released in 2002, the wide-body Carrera 4S variant of the 996 offered enthusiasts all-wheel-drive, with suspension & brake components borrowed from the Turbo. This car puts out a massive amount of power that likely makes this car truly insane to drive. In 2013 the car was diagnosed with engine problems, the car was not driven very often prior & the mechanic at the time determined that from sitting, the engine was not properly lubricated & as a result the cylinder walls got scratched. This was then confirmed when the engine was removed from the car & diagnosed. The sellers plan was to send this 4S to the USA to get the engine rebuilt. However, the car was denied at the border & unfortunately sat for several months in storage in Lethbridge, AB. Before the car was picked up by the transport company it did not have any of the body damage that we see it has, the selling party believes this all occurred due to improper transport & storage after being declined at the border. In 2015 the seller opened a performance shop called Haute AG in Calgary, AB. They took this 4S Cabriolet on as a project vehicle with the goal to do the LS swap with the LS swap kit from Renegade Hybrids. They purchased the LS3 470hp version along with the GM ECU & harness from the local GM dealership. It took them about 2 years to complete the build because they were doing it as a side project alongside day to day garage work. After the success of this example, they eventually built a 2nd LS3 swapped Carrera 2 that is still seen roaming the streets of Calgary, AB. The reported total cost was $55,000 CAD. This vehicle was custom tuned & dynoed at 425 WHP & 420 WTG on a hub dyno. A new custom exhaust & equal length headers was recently added. The seller states that all of the kinks have been worked out & the car drives wonderfully with no issues. The car is reportedly amazing to drive, sounds great & has loads of power. It has just over 63,000 KM on the body and roughly 3000 KM on the LS3 V8.
