Extra options

Here we have the very powerful 1972 Ford Mustang Mach 1 in a beautiful spec; the paint alone is what makes this Mach 1. The Mach 1 is a performance-oriented option package that sat at the top of the trim list for the Mustang in this generation. The Mach 1 was only offered in the "SportsRoof" fastback body style. Mach 1's were equipped with a unique grille with sport lamps, an upgraded competition suspension from the factory including higher rate springs, larger front and rear stabilizer bars and heavy-duty shocks. This Mach 1 does have some engine upgrades which made the hood sit a little higher, not allowing for the Ram Air Hood to properly fit. The Mach 1 was originally introduced in August 1968 for the 1969 model year. It was then available until 1978, returning briefly in 2003, 2004 & most recently in 2021. This 1972 Mach 1 is part of the very first facelift for the 1st generation until 1973. It was built in May 1972 in Dearborn. An Elite Marti Report is attached providing tons of useful information including how rare this example is with some of the options it has. It is 1 of very few optioned with white letter tires, AM radio & factory tinted glass. This car was restored under its previous ownership. It is reported to have its original panels which did not have any rust at the time of restoration & repaint. The current seller purchased the car in the summer of 2022 from a deceased friends family. The undercarriage is reportedly in excellent condition. The car is said to have not been driven very much since 2021, mostly sitting in heated garage. The brakes are said to be in good condition along with the rest of the vehicle & no issues present. It is powered by the Q-Code 351ci 4 barrel CJ / GT engine which was introduced in May 1971. It is one of the most powerful engines of the 1972 year bringing the most torque at over 300 Lb-Ft. It spins the rear wheels through a 3-speed C6 Cruise-O-Matic transmission. It shows 25,756 miles / 41,450 km on the 5-digit odometer; TMU (Total Mileage Unknown). - 3-speed C6 Cruise-O-Matic transmission - Bright Blue Metallic 3J (#3077-A) with Argent accents over Blue Sebring Knit Corinthian vinyl interior - Deluxe 3-spoke steering wheel - Corinthian vinyl bucket seats - Rear bench - AM radio - Analog clock - Wood grain veneers - Roll-up windows - Console with cup holders - Mach 1 sports interior - Power steering - Power front disc brakes - Rear air shocks; air is added through a line inside the trunk - 17" Chrome US mags wheels - 245/50 R17 94V Falken ZIEX ze960 a/s tires dated 03/21 - Body side tape tripe - Tinted glass (factory) - 3.25 conventional rear axle (9) - Hood scoop & pins - Ram Air Hood - Rear window louvres - Chrome twist-open gas cap - Rear decklid - Front spoiler - SportsRoof Fastback body - Color-keyed dual racing mirror with driver side remote - Mach 1 decals & details in Argent - Power: 266 HP & 301 Lb-Ft of Torque - Curb Weight: 2910 lbs
