Here we have a stunning 1990 Ferrari Testarossa featuring Pininfarina-designed bodywork in Rosso Corsa over Black Connolly. The Testarossa (Type F110) is a 12-cylinder mid-engine iconic sports car / grand tourer that premiered at the 1984 Paris Auto Show. It went into production in 1984 as the successor to the Ferrari BB 512i & ended in 1991 with some late model '92s. The rear mid-engine design keeps the centre of gravity in the middle of the car, improving stability & the car's cornering ability. The Testarossa is a recognized cultural icon of the 1980's & was popularized by the media through "Miami Vice" & the video game "Out Run". It was Maranello’s flagship model for over a decade & one of the most iconic supercars of its time. It was the last Ferrari to feature a flat 12-cylinder engine.
This example is one of only 452 U.S. specification Testarossa's produced. It was first registered in California prior to spending time in Virginia, Michigan & Ohio before being acquired by the current owner and imported to Canada in 2021. At the time of acquisition in May 2021 the car had roughly 15,000 miles / 24,100 km & it now shows just over 15,800 miles / 25,500 km on the 6-digit mechanical odometer.
In 2018 it reportedly underwent a major service completed by North Coast Exotics of Cleveland, Ohio. The service included a new timing belt, pulleys, spark plugs, gaskets, fluids, hood struts & rebuilding of the front brake callipers. The invoice for this service totaled $8,267 USD.
It is powered by a mid-mounted Tipo F113 4.9L flat-12 engine with 4-valves-per-cylinder, dry-sump lubrication, Marelli Microplex ignition & Bosch KE-Jetronic fuel injection. It spins the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission & a limited-slip differential. The chassis includes front & rear double wishbone suspension as well as 4-wheel ventilated disc brakes. A clean CarFax is attached. The vehicle is currently in reported private heated storage.
