Here we have a nice example of your classic Camaro; a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS in its proper Hugger Orange powered by a beastly L48 350 5.7L V8 4-Barrel also equipped with the RS Rally Sport package (Z22). This SS is now for sale by its owner of the last 2 years. Roughly 12 years ago under its previous long-time ownership it underwent a reported entire nut & bolt rotisserie restoration on the body. During this restoration, it was repainted in its original colour, new floor & trunk pans were installed along with a new gas tank, new fenders & new vinyl top. Roughly 5 years ago under the same previous owner, the interior was reupholstered other than the dash which was left untouched. Recently under current ownership, new brakes were installed with discs upfront & drums in the rear, new tires were installed on the Rally wheels & new coil over shocks were put in. The SS performance package in this Camaro adds a 350 5.7L, chassis upgrades for better handling & to deal with the additional power. The SS features non-functional air inlets on the hood, special striping & SS badging. The Rally Sport (RS) was an appearance package that includes a special black-painted grille with concealed headlights & headlight washers, fender striping, simulated rear fender louvers, front & rear wheel opening moldings, black body sill, bright accented taillights, back-up lights below rear bumper & a bright exterior trim. It also included RS emblems on grille, steering wheel & rear panel and Rally Sport front fender nameplates however due to this example also having the SS package, SS emblems overtook the RS emblems. This 1st-generation Camaro is an American muscle car introduced by Chevrolet in the fall of 1966 for the 1967 model year. It drove on a brand-new RWD GM F-body platform & was available as a 2-door, 2+2 seat, hardtop & convertible. This 1st generation was sold in 1967 through 1969. In 1969, this final year of the 1st generation the grille was redesigned with a heavier "V" cant & deeper inset headlights. New door skins, rear quarter panels & rear valance panel also gave the car a much lower, wider & aggressive look. It is powered by the Turbo-Fire L48 350 5.7L V8 spinning the rear wheels through its 3-speed Turbo Hydra-matic 350 automatic transmission which became available in 1968. There were 12 different engines offered in 1969 with this L48 being one of the most powerful only below the 396 & 427's. The paint is reportedly very shiny, it just has some chips which are shown in the gallery. It is not described as a Concord series award winning car by the seller but a great driver with the ability to be a nice show car. It shows 30,739 miles / 49,469 km on the 5-digit odometer; TMU (Total Mileage Unknown). The vin tells us it was produced at the Norwood, OH assembly plant. It also confirms it is a coupe 1969 model with the V8 under the hood. The Cowl Tag also confirmed with ST69 12437 that it is a 1969 Coupe due to the 69 & 37. The standard bucket seats are confirmed by the TR711 tag. It is also an original RS example. 03B tells us it was built in March 1969.
