Here we have a 1970 VeloSoleX Solex 3800. It is an extremely versatile motorized bicycle commonly referred to as the Solex. It was originally produced by the French manufacturer Solex, based in Courbevoie near Paris, France. It was marketed as the "bicycle which drives itself", since it can be used as a normal bike using its pedals when the fuel tank is depleted. It provides 60 miles / 97 km of range from its 1.25 gallon / 4.73L gas tank.
It still features all its original components including the front splash guard, a spring solo saddle, a center stand, both front & rear lights along with the cargo rack, saddle bags & a Solexine jerry can. It is powered by a 49cc 2-stroke single-cylinder that is mounted upfront & directly drives the front wheel. It does not have a title or registration; it is being sold on a bill of sale. It does not have an odometer, therefore total mileage is unknown.
