Ahead of it's time, the very first production car to be fully built on an aluminium chassis. With its 50/50 weight distribution, it was always known for its great handling and balance. The 528i may not have the big V8 like the 540i, however this was a good thing because it is still a great driving experience with plenty of pick-up without the extra issues maintenance and reliability wise, that the 540i struggled with. The 528i is also a lot cheaper to maintain.
