Here we have the very first model year of the famous Mustang. It is a 1965 Ford Mustang coupe with the 2nd most powerful engine of its generation; the 4-Barrel 289ci. The 1st-generation Ford Mustang was manufactured from March 1964-1973. The 1st official model year was 1965 but some particular early examples are regarded as 1964.5's. Some standard equipment for the early 1965 Mustangs included black front seat belts, a glove box light & a padded dash board. The very first Mustang to be delivered was actually sold in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada with VIN #1 5F08F100001 in April of 1964 out of the Geroge Parsons Frod dealership.
This Mustang is powered by the 2nd most powerful engine at the time; the "Code-A" 289ci 4.7L small block V8 4-barrel spinning the rear wheels through a 3-speed automatic transmission. This example has the original floor & no rust or any perforation. It underwent a new paint job, a reupholstered interior & a new wheel kit.
