Here we have a 1975 BMW 2002 with a sunroof & square-taillights. The 2002 model was created at the word of legendary car importer Max Hoffman & was introduced to the American market in 1968. It featured a more powerful 2.0L M10 engine. It was produced by the German automaker from 1966-1977. In 1968 the announcement of the M10 engine made it known that BMW was a maker of high-quality affordable performance vehicles.
This vehicle reportedly remained with the original owner until 2001. The 2nd owner then had it for 16 years until 2017 using it as a summer vehicle. In 2017 it was reportedly acquired by a local dealer who sold it to the current seller in 2018 when it had roughly 99,000 miles / 160,000 km on the odometer. The seller has reportedly added roughly 7000 miles / 11,300 km since. It was repainted in the Fjord Blue under previous ownership & the interior was reupholstered in the blue velour and vinyl. The engine was reportedly replaced in 2001.
It is powered by a 2.0L inline-4 spinning the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. It now shows roughly 5,000 miles / 11,300 km on the 5 digit odometer; TMU (total mileage unknown). The car has its imperfections no doubt, though reportedly does drive well. It can be a summer cruiser or a restoration project. The photos are said to be from the time of acquisition by the seller however a new video was created to show the vehicle in its reported same current state.
